INTL ParentEd is a parent education program for our community which offers informative talks and webinars focused on INTL’s programs or parenting practices, behaviors, and tips on raising children in today’s modern world.

INTL ParentEd: The Upstanders Movie Screening

Jan. 10th - 6:30-8:30pm | INTL Cohn Campus
Please note that we will also have a panel of experts to help answer questions at the end of the film. 
The Upstanders explores all sides of bullying, from the brain science to how it plays out from subtle scenarios to full blown bullying. Social media’s power means that bully behavior is now a 24/7 phenomenon, where even changing schools, jobs and phone numbers, or deleting accounts cannot stop the cycle. Covid has increased the incidence of cyber-bullying by 70%. The Upstanders film program shares safe proven strategies and is rooted in character building. It inspires kindness, honesty, respect, empathy, trust and connection.
Weaving together personal stories of kids and their families, as well as educators, brain-scientists and mental health experts, The Upstanders shows the importance of safely modeling empathy and resilience to transform attitudes and action. It breaks down power dynamics and highlights new laws and established programs that are already reducing bullying in schools, the workplace and other communities. It shows that everyone is needed to eradicate bullying, and gives all of us the confidence and tools to become 'Upstanders'.

    Talking to Young People About Healthy Relationships & Sexuality

    Would you like additional tools and tips to engage more comfortably in conversations about sex and healthy relationships with your young people? 
    ​
    Join us for a virtual film screening and education event.  We will screen the half hour PBS documentary MY BODY TO LOVE, in which EMMY award winning filmmaker Preeti Deb, takes us into the inner worlds of four young Americans as they share personal experiences relating to their bodies, relationships and sexuality.
     
    The deeply personal films will be followed by a talk from Sex Health Educator Ivy Chen, who will share tangible, age appropriate techniques on how parents can discuss healthy relationships, sexual identity and sexual decision making with their young people. 
    ​
    Some of the young people featured in the film will also be present to answer questions about their own stories.
