  • Oktoberfest: October 5, 2024

    DATE AND TIME: Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 3-7PM 
    LOCATION:
    Parent Residence, Atherton. Guests will be provided with address.
    COST: $100 per person

    Join us for a delightful German Oktoberfest hosted in a beautiful parklike setting in Atherton. Enjoy authentic German cuisine, lively music, and a warm, communal atmosphere.

    Enjoy the clinking of glasses and friendly laughter as you indulge in authentic German delicacies and draft beer. The long, communal wooden tables will be set with fresh bratwurst, homemade potato salad, traditional pretzels, and delectable German cake. The enchanting outdoor setting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for fostering a sense of community among attendees.

  • Martin Yan Cooking Demonstration: January 25, 2025

    Join us for an unforgettable event featuring the legendary Martin Yan from the popular TV show "Yan Can Cook"! Enjoy a live cooking demonstration and interactive Q&A. Experience Martin Yan's culinary magic up close.

  • Geneviève Charlot Concert: March 7, 2025

    We are delighted to invite you to a special evening concert featuring the enchanting Geneviève Charlot, French lyricist and poet. Geneviève will transport you to a world of beautiful words and melodies celebrating France, its language, and culture.

  • About

    In February, we will be commemorating the school’s 45th Anniversary with a vibrant celebration inspired by the French festive season, "Carnival."

    Students will receive personalized invitations delivered to their homes, inviting them to their program’s unique celebration. Embracing the spirit of Carnival, they'll be encouraged to dress in colorful costumes and masks, adding to the excitement of the occasion.

    Throughout the festivities, students will come together to share food, sing, and dance amidst confetti and streamers. The atmosphere will be filled with mystery, revelry, and delight as we celebrate our school’s remarkable 45 years.
  • Early Years Carnival: February 11, 2025

    DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 2-3PM
    LOCATION: Willows Campus, 475 Pope Street, Menlo Park, CA
    **Open to Early Years students only.

    Our youngest students will celebrate on February 11th with a wonderful carnival filled with costumes, parades, and a delightful gathering to commemorate our school's birthday.

    After their afternoon nap, children will get into their costumes and participate in a lively parade around the school. The parade will culminate in the gym, where they will share a dance or two together, fostering a sense of community and joy.

    Event Highlights:
    • Costume Parade: Children will parade around the school in their colorful costumes, showcasing their creativity and excitement.
    • Dance Celebration: In the gym, the children will dance all together.
    • Birthday Celebration: Cupcakes will be served as the children sing "Happy Birthday" to celebrate our school's special day.
    • Creative Activities: In the leadup to the event, Early years students will make their own Venetian masks, adding a personal touch to their costumes.

    Parents can support this event in the following ways:
    • Personal Event Postcards: Each child will receive a personal event postcard delivered at home in the leadup to the event. Please remember to deliver your child’s invitation to them.
    • Costumes: Parents can help by providing their child with costumes. Reusing costumes from Halloween is perfectly acceptable. 
    This event promises to be a memorable and fun-filled experience for our youngest students, celebrating the spirit of our school community.
  • Elementary School Carnival: February 13, 2025

    DATE AND TIME: Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 1-3PM
    LOCATION: Cohn Campus, 151 Laura Lane, Palo Alto, CA
    **Open to Elementary Students only.

    Our elementary students will celebrate with a day full of costumes, parades, and creative fun. This event promises to be an exciting and memorable experience for all.

    Students are invited to come dressed in their favorite costumes for the entire day, adding an extra layer of fun and excitement to their school experience. The highlight of the day will be a lively parade around the school, where students will be able to showcase their costumes to their friends.

    This event is designed to foster a sense of community and celebrate the imaginative spirit of our students.

    Event Highlights:
    • Costume Day: Students will wear their favorite costumes all day long, adding excitement to their school day.
    • Parade: A fun-filled parade around the school where students can display their costumes.
    • Catwalk: Students will walk on a catwalk, showcasing their costumes and enjoying the creativity of their friends.
    • Dance Celebration: In the gym, the children will dance all together.
    • Birthday Celebration: Cupcakes will be served as the children sing "Happy Birthday" to celebrate our school's special day.

  • Upper School Masquerade Ball: February 28, 2025

    DATE AND TIME: Friday, February 28, 2025 at 6-8PM
    LOCATION: Cohn Campus, 151 Laura Lane, Palo Alto, CA
    **Open to Upper School students only.


    This year's Upper School Masquerade Ball will transform the Cohn Campus into a vibrant Venetian carnival. Replacing the usual school dance, this themed event promises an evening of elegance, mystery, and unforgettable fun.

    Students are encouraged to bring their own costumes, embracing the rich tradition and mystique of the carnival. The evening will be filled with lively activities, including a confetti battle and dancing under neon lights, creating a festive and enchanting atmosphere.

    Event Highlights:
    • Carnival Theme: Themed decorations and a carnival atmosphere to immerse students in the magic of the French Carnival.
    • Costumes and Masks: Students will wear costumes, adding to the mystique, intrigue, and excitement. Students will create their own masks at school, although they can also bring one from home. 
    • Delicious Food: Pizza and crêpes will be served to keep everyone energized for the night.
    • Confetti Battle: A fun and lively confetti battle to heighten the festivities.
    • Neon Lights: Dance under vibrant neon lights, enhancing the visual appeal of the event.
    This Venetian carnival celebration offers a perfect blend of elegance and excitement, providing students with a unique and memorable experience.

  • Soirée du Vin - Aged to Perfection: September 29, 2024

  • Arts Night - One World: December 7, 2024

    In December, the Cohn Campus transforms into a beautiful art gallery featuring projects from every student and grade level. Celebrate diversity and creativity at one of the largest community events of the year, made possible by the dedication of our parents and teachers. Inspired by the school’s 45 years of learning through language, culture, and global citizenship, this year's theme is "One World."
  • Annual Gala and Auction - A Sapphire Affair: March 22, 2025

    DATE AND TIME: Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 5:30PM
    LOCATION: Palo Alto Hills Country Club, 3000 Alexis Drive, Palo Alto, CA

    In March, celebrate our 45th anniversary with "A Sapphire Affair," themed around the blue sapphire stone. Guests are encouraged to wear blue for an evening of dinner, entertainment, and great company. Join us at Silicon Valley International School's largest fundraising event of the year.
